Where do dragons live?

In places of pain

where God’s love has been shrugged.

All in dark places within mind.

They are vicious in strongholds deep,

keeping all locked away from knowing self

and much too strong to be gotten out.

Except by sword of truth

where light in darkness unfurls to unveil,

another naked victim at first light.

So, cry out and touch with pain.

Yet in other seasons it seemed better…

Choices! We know we’re to blame.

Inviting them in,

through deceptive lying eyes.

Knowing they’re there,

we no longer hide in a lie.

Every moment we are distracted

from full reality, therein lies pain.

For a life not lived with understanding

misses heaven and meets devil’s rage.
