Poem – Pressing In
November 3, 2024
Traveling across a desert, I saw a great old shoe. A boot with laces from off in the distance. It stood out covered with dirt. Then a light shown from on high and with a steady golden beam, it pierced the great shoe's bronzed leathery texture. It appeared to have worn out its use with its ratty-old laces and many creases, but the golden light from on high continued to shine beneath the texture of the shoe.
Then all at once, the shoe began to melt away like wax, and from under the leather peeling away, it shown with pure gold as bright as the sun.
Oh, how God fashions from the inside-out.
Oh, how He fashions me.
